WE DREAM OF PUTTING AN END TO HUNGER
THE SET UP OF A SUSTAINABLE FOOD PROGRAMME IN A REFUGEE CAMP COSTS £10,000 JUST TO GET STARTED.
Uganda hosts over 1.5m refugees severely strained food resources, we have helped the children in a refugee camp to set up their own chicken farms and sustainable feeding programme.
TRANSCENDING BORDERS & COMMUNITIES
Uganda has hosted more refugees than any other African country with 1.5 million in 2021, primarily from South Sudan and The Democratic Republic of the Congo. This has severely strained Uganda’s food resources, and both malnutrition and anaemia run rampant in refugee settlements.
The lack of nutritious foods and balanced diets has led to high rates of malnutrition and related diseases such as vitamin deficiencies, stunting and anaemia. This project is a campaign led by child headed families who have fled South Sudan and are now living in refugee camps to set up their own chicken farms and a sustainable feeding programme.
The children wanted us to help them set-up their own chicken farms and sustainable feeding programme. To keep this project operating and allow us to expand our reach to more children we require funding.
